H&E section of colon: normal crypts and a lymphoid aggregate on the left, desmoplastic stroma in the middle, invasive adenocarcinoma on the right

Emre Çağatay Köse

Pathologist working on machine learning for diagnostic pathology.

I trained as a pathologist and now spend most of my time on computational pathology: building models that read whole-slide images, testing whether they hold up on real cases, and working out what it takes to use them in a diagnostic lab.

This site collects my CV, talks, and notes on the field. I write for two audiences at once: pathologists curious about how these models work, and engineers who want to know what a pathologist looks for on a slide.
